The study assesses the degree of validity of decision-making when using the developed methods and system of information support of navigation. A comparative analysis of the assessment of adequacy and completeness of the information model of situation assessment provided to the navigator by existing methods and using the proposed methods is carried out, and the study of the efficiency of the improved model using the indicators of reliability, efficiency and completeness known in the theory of modelling shows its greater efficiency compared to the existing one. Algorithms are proposed that will allow to implement an automated solution to the tasks of recognition and situational analysis of the surface situation. The algorithm is initiated at the user's request when the values in the database of information features change or after modification of the knowledge base about the situation.
